Brokerage Agreement
Boat Shipping USA, Inc. has more than 20 years of experience in international boat brokerage, shipping and repair.
We are proud to offer our international buyers a simple and affordable US boat buying package. Since most of our clients are international buyers, we made a process simple and easy.
Escrow funds are deposited in to a secure, state approved escrow account. Boat Shipping USA, Inc. assures you that your deposits are safe!
Once boat is purchased, we can ship your boat from any port in the US to any port worldwide.
Please find below boat buying process overview:
STEP 1 – Search and Preview
We strongly recommend you to use our reputable and reliable partners web sites: http://www.yachtauctions.com/inventory.php and http://www.boattrader.com (use 33009 zip code when searched for boats and within 200 miles to save on boat transportation cost to our warehouse).
- Once you’ve found a boat and asked us all the questions and discussed the condition and value of the boat. If you like the boat and are ready, we make an offer to purchase the boat on your behalf.
STEP 2 – Make an Offer
- You fill out a Purchase and Sales Agreement with all of the “Subject to” items you want to have as a condition of purchase such as: Simple condition report, Marine survey, Sea trial and Personal inspection etc.
- You sign it and send it back to us.
- At this point, you will need to send the 10% deposit to our escrow account (if you decide against the purchase, your deposit is 100% refunded). Once we received it, we forward your offer to the seller for their acceptance. If there is a counter offer (we try to minimize this by encouraging both parties to be reasonable) we continue to negotiate until an offer is accepted by both parties.
STEP 3 – Survey and Sea Trial
- You may choose a surveyor (a marine survey is highly recommended) or we can supply a list of surveyors, then we set up a date for your Sea Trial and Survey. This is when you find out everything about the boat including a out-of-water inspection.
- You will need to complete all of your “subject to” lines by your the Acceptance Date that you wrote in the Purchase & Sales Agreement. If you are satisfied with survey and sea trial, then you sign a acceptance of survey/sea trial so that we can start a closing paperwork procedure.
STEP 4 – Closing
- At this point you will be contacted by one of the closing services we use. They will order an abstract (lien search), prepare Bills of Sale and making a title. You will receive a buyers closing statement from Boat Shipping USA, Inc..
- You will need to send the balance of the purchase price to our escrow account, where it is held until closing day (usually 2-5 days after your acceptance). The closing service will notarize sellers signature on the bill of sale and back to them by the closing.
- Closing Day: You receive the bill of sale, the keys and you are the owner of the boat!
STEP 5 – International Shipping
- Once the boat is delivered to our loading facility, we begin manufacturing a custom made cradle.
- Most boats with dimensions of up to 28′-30′ length and up to 8’6” beam (in some cases up to 8’8” beam), we ship inside standard 40′ High Cube containers (savings up to 50% compared to Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off)). We drain all liquids (gas, oil, water), remove tops, windshield (when needed), disconnect wires and batteries then a boat is being loaded inside container at the certain angle on the cradle as well as it’s trailer.
- Most boats with length over 28′-30′ and beam over 8’6” we ship Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) or flat racks.
- Once the boat is shipped we will forward you all the documents you will need to do a customs clearance at destination including:
- Bill of Lading (BL)
- Certificate of Origin
- Certificate of Ownership or Certificate of Documentation (from US Coast Guard)
- Commercial Invoice
- Bill of Sale
Your boat has arrived! Congratulations from BoatShippingUSA.com!
