Shrink Wrap

Composition

The most commonly used shrink wrap is polyolefin. It is available in a variety of thicknesses, clarities, strengths and shrink ratios. The two primary films can be eithercross-linked, or non cross-linked. Other shrink films include PVC and several other compositions.

Use

This is optional but highly recommended. Not only does it protect your boat and keeps it clean, it also provides a modest level of security. Shrink wrap is a very good theft deterrent, but we recommend that you consider shipping all of the electronics separately. The insurance coverage does not apply to the boat contents. Shrink wrapping is an easy and economical way to protect and store boats, RV’s, equipment or any other commodity from dust and debris while in storage or in transit.Removal is just as simple and all of our materials are 100% recyclable. In order to Wrap a Boat or RV, boat trader specialist use tape, spray adhesive, vents and possibly some poly-woven strapping. To do the actual heat shrinking process, we use a propane fired heat gun. Shrink wrap is applied over or around the intended item, like a boat in our case, often by automated equipment. It is then heated by a heat gun. Shrink wrap can be supplied in several forms. Flat roll stock can be wrapped around a product, often with heat sealing to tack the film together. We shrink wrap boats in preparation to transit to protect boat trader’s investment.
